Covered Transportation LLC (CT) is an asset based logistics company that works throughout the United States of America, Canada, the Mexican Border and in and out of all USA ports to provide fast and cost effective transportation services for Customers.
Covered Transportation has the latest, high tech, most efficient tractors and the newest thin wall reefer trailers that allow for shipment of dry, refrigerated and frozen loads. Experienced management, drivers and compliance with all DOT / CSA safety requirements and intensive follow-up ensure safe and secure on-time arrivals.
Working through parent company Covered Logistics and Transportation LLC, CT negotiates freight rates and matches Customers with product to ship with it�s equipment to efficiently and cost effectively deliver Customer goods. This means CT can manage the move of all types of freight: long and short haul; dry, frozen, refrigerated temperature controlled; expedited, flatbed, or intermodal. Bottom line: CT provides the best service and cost for each freight movement and intensely follows-up for on-time delivery.
Dispatch Procedure: After the load is assigned to CT the dispatch process begins. When assigning a driver and equipment CT uses the 5-100 rule: CT only assigns drivers that are empty 5 hours prior to scheduled pick time and are within 100 miles of the pick location. This ensures ample lead time for a driver to arrive in a timely manner or to adjust capacity requirements.
Communication: CT drivers have the latest communication technology as well as cell phones. At every moment CT knows where the equipment is located, how fast it is traveling, and the calculated arrival time. Communication is from CT to the cab by I-Pad. Temperatures are constantly monitored, and CT can advise the driver to make any setting corrections, or if the driver is away from the equipment, CT can make the adjustment. All loads are constantly tracked so the customer always knows the progress on the CT web site.
